EXCITING NEWS!

Kia ora everyone!

We are very excited to start swimming this week on Tuesday! We will be going swimming after lunch play has finished and we have done our afternoon roll.

We will need
  • swimming togs
  • towel
  • plastic bag
Everything MUST BE NAMED or the swimming pool taniwha might steal it away for his mokopuna!

We can wear goggles and swimming hats if we need to.

We would love to have parent helpers so please let Miss Ellis or Mrs Marshall know if you want to help!

We are going to be learning how to manage ourselves for swimming.
We need to be able to:
  • get changed into our togs
  • look after our uniform by putting it in our plastic bag
  • behave safely around the pool
  • change out of our wet clothes after swimming
  • dry ourselves
  • put our uniform back on
  • put our wet clothes into our plastic bags
Please help us by letting us practice at home after a bath or shower or swimming.

We have more great news!  Miss Gracious is going to be our 3rd teacher for the rest of the year!  Please come in and say hello to her.  She would love to meet you.

Don't forget our parent-teacher meetings are on Monday and Tuesday if you would like some time with Miss Ellis.

We are also having a Peace Day to remember Armistice Day on Wednesday.  We will be learning about peace this week and decorating our class.  Look out for more information.

Next week, on Friday, we will be co-hosting the whole school at assembly with our buddy class.  We are confirming the time.  We will perform our song 'Hurry Hurry'.

We are going to go on a trip with Room 18 to Westlynn Gardens to celebrate Diwali with our families.  We need lots of helpers and would love you to come along.  There will be a notice coming out soon.  The trip will be on Thursday 26 November.

In the meantime have a look at these photos!

At Maths time we added groups of tangelos together.  Then we ate them!

We use finger gym to strengthen our fingers after we finish our sound activity.

We have Reading with Mrs Marshall.

We are learning to point to each word as we read it.

We are learning to read words that we use a lot.  We can make them with playdough.

We sing the National Anthem and do the haka!

No wonder we are so tired at the end of the day!

Ka kite ano!
