PHOTOS AND LEARNING IN ROOM 20

Kia ora everyone,

In Room 20 we have welcomed many new friends into our classroom.  We have some amazing role models who are great at showing our new students how Arahoe School works.  We are super busy learning so much!  We are all working in reading groups and Maths groups and have group leaders.

Have a look at some of our photos!

Look at this super star leading the learning in Room 20:

Every day we learn about letter sounds for the different letters of the alphabet:

We use Talk Moves.  They help us take part in our learning and let everyone share their ideas.
Ask us what 'Wait Time, 'Revoice' and 'Add On' mean!

We are working in Maths groups.  Have a look at our Maths wall to see what we are learning.

Don't forget- there are self portraits from last term available!  $10 for Art Attack fundraising!

We use Finger Gym after our activity.  We can choose an activity that helps our fingers get strong for writing.  What can we do at home to help strengthen our fingers?

Thanks to all the helpers at our Spring Fair.
An unofficial amount fundraised is $25,000- the most we have ever raised!
Look at this guy standing out like a spooky shining star!

Amazing parent helpers at our Eco Store.

Awesome eco dish washers!

Using rods at Maths time.
In Maths we are learning:
to count objects
to add 2 groups together
to add 2 groups together in our heads

Our new Reading groups and Reading tree!
We are learning to:
point to each word as we read
find words we read a lot (like 'the', 'at')
use picture clues to help us understand what we are reading
use the first letter of a word to read words we don't know

We hope you enjoyed your visit to our blog!
