With only 2 days left of Term 2, I would like to share the Arahoe vision for Term 3 and our Reception Room students.
In Term 3, we will be using both learning spaces in Room 19 and Room 20 - a Modern Learning Environment (MLE). We will have 3 teachers- myself, Mrs Betsy Rego (currently in Room 19) and we will be joined by third teacher. This upholds our 1 teacher to 15 students philosophy. We will work together to ensure a student centred learning environment for your children. Eventually Room 19 will develop as their own classroom.
On the first day back at school your child can follow the same routine: say hello to the teachers, unpack their lunch box and book bag, and hang their bag on a hook in the cloakbay. The only change is that they may have a new hook and they can also use the Room 19 cubby holes. We will all meet in the mat area in Room 20 to start the day.
We believe that learning in a Modern Learning Environment supports the vision of the NZ Curriculum and supports the development of diverse life long learners in an ever changing world.
I have posted the NZ Curriculum Vision Statement below.
Room 20 has been a vibrant and active classroom! It has been an absolute privilege to be their first teacher at Arahoe School. Thank you to the many helpers we have had over the term. Your support is invaluable wether it has been reading with children or sharpening pencils. Please remember to let me know if you would like to help in Term 3!
Have a safe and happy school holiday period.
Ka kite ano,
Sarah
