Kia ora everybody!
Our class is growing every week and we are meeting so many new friends! Welcome to Emma, Aydan, Jalen, Dev, Caitlyn, and Nigam. We are so excited about meeting new people and showing them the Awesome Arahoe way!
We have been designing logos for our class t-shirt and Miss Wackrow has cut out a stencil for us to print onto t-shirts. Thanks for bringing our t-shirts into school. We used a combination of Komail, Mia and Evelyn's designs.
In Handwriting and Writing time some of us have been learning to write in our books. That means we are no longer writing on the chalkboards. We are learning to listen for sounds we can hear in words and write down the letter that makes the sound. Some of us are learning to form our letters correctly on the chalkboards, while our newer friends are learning about the Casey the Caterpillar story.
You can help us at home by:
- giving us lots of time to exercise our fingers, by playing with lego, playdough, tweezers or by letting us do lots of cutting and creating. This helps our fingers get strong for Writing.
- using the Casey the Caterpillar language that we use at school. Ask our teachers for a hand out to put on the fridge.
- reminding us to use a capital letter at the start of our name only if we can form our letters correctly, not in the middle.
Joining our Casey Shapes to form letters.
