ROOM 20'S FIRST DAY BACK AT SCHOOL

Kia ora every body!

What a fun day we had today!  Some of us have just started school and are settling into Room 20.  Look at what we have been doing:
We went for a walk around the school.  In the hall we sang a song called 'Come On In' to help us learn each others names.  Sadie Bear helped us.

Here are all the new children who have started school this term.
 We visited the library.
We had Reading with Miss Wackrow.  We went on a picture walk and learnt about the different parts of the book.  We used our Seeing Eye to play Eye Spy.  This helps us find words we read a lot.
Aren't we doing a great job!
Mia is using her seeing eye!
After we read our book 'The Boat' we made boats and checked to see if they float.

What a great first day for the new children.  Watch out to see what the rest of the children are up to tomorrow!

  1. Amelia had a great first day and has been singing the 'come to the mat' song since she got home. We also had to make another boat! Love this blog, great idea :)

  2. I agree with Anna, this is a great window into the classroom for us parents! Lily loved her first day and making her boat. She was so proud of what she made, she came home and explained how she made it, then played 'teachers' (she was the teacher!) Thank you teachers for making us feel so welcome!
