THURSDAY ALREADY!

Kia ora everyone!

Wow this week is going so fast.  That is what happens when it is a short week!  We have had a very busy week learning about the letters n and h and what sounds they make.

Check out these cool videos we watch to help us learn! Letter N song  Letter H song

Today we joined the running club!  It was so cool.  We went for a 10 minute run after we did our roll.  Lots of fun and it helped us so much in the day to do our best learning.

Today we learnt some more about Tane (God of the Forest in Maori legend) and his children which include noke (worms).  We studied some koru patterns and decorated our noke with them.

We are learning to count and read numbers to 100, and most of us are learning to count, read and write our numbers to 20.

Here are some photos of what we have been doing in Room 20 this week.
We are learning to make kites!  We have to listen very carefully to the tricky instructions!
Folding along the dotted lines we made.
Miss Reid took some of us out to the building bench!
We are listening for syllables and clapping the syllables we hear in our names!
(Lu/cy = 2 syllables= 2 claps.)

 How many syllables?
Finding pictures that start with the /n/ sound.  N/n noodles!
Super workers having a super day!
Just started school this week and writing tunnel shapes on the chalkboards.  Tunnels are in letter /n/ and letter /h/ and letter /m/.

We all took turns talking about what we made with Miss Reid.  We learnt how to drill a whole and hammer a nail into the hole.

Wow!  Lorin visited Room 20 and did amazing work.  Great job colouring pictures that have /h/ as the beginning sound.  Lorin counted in Spanish for us all the way to 10!
Paul is counting in German! He taught us how to say 'ya' in German.  Ya means yes.
Did you know all the different things we were learning to do here today?  We are learning to recognise number patterns and read, write and match numbers to 10.  Great work Room 20!
Here are some of our beautiful noke we decorated with koru patterns.

Don't forget our disco is tomorrow night!

Ka kite ano!
