NEW SPACES, SAME FACES

Kia ora everybody!

The time has finally come for the older children to graduate into Room 19!  On Friday we had a look at the new class, after the newer children had gone home.  We moved our name tags in the cloak bay to the other side, under our beautiful korowai and nearest the entry door.
On Monday morning we will unpack our bags and put our lunch boxes in the cubby holes in Room 19.  We will say good morning to our teachers in Room 19.

In Room 20, we will be learning a new letter and it's sound everyday.  We will also be learning to read words that are in our books and in our stories a lot.  Our teachers call these 'Sight Words' or 'High Frequency Words (HFW)'.

We are also learning about what a jingle is. We have learnt that the 'Make It Click' song is a jingle, that a jingle is a short song, and that a jingle has  a message!  We will write our own jingle this term about being safe on the roads.

We are learning to identify hazards.  We went to the school gates and talked about how to be safe.  We walk on the path when we go to class from the gates, and don't walk through the carpark because it is too dangerous!
Jump Jam is every Friday and it is so much fun!
Time to move!  The seniors are moving their new furniture into their new classes.
Here we are in Room 19.  We are going to print t.shirts this term!
In Room 19 we will be learning about Road Safety too!
In Room 19 there are lots of new words to learn!  Toma- can you see 'and' in the blue hot air balloon?

In Room 19 we have pictures to remind us what to do when we are reading!

Miss Ellis will miss us, but she knows her job is done, because we have settled into school so well, have made lots of new friends and are super listeners!

Ka kite ano, and look out for Room 19's new blog!

Room 20 will still be here!
