Kia ora everybody!
Today we had a special visitor who brought some worms to Room 20. Miss Read brought some old leaves. She asked us why the leaves were brown. The leaves are brown because they are dead! The worms don't like to be in the light so they tried to wriggle back under the dead leaves.
The worms were getting bigger and bigger! They got bigger and bigger because they stretched out their bodies. Look at us stretching out our bodies.
We looked at their heads looking around and at how they stretch out and pull their bodies behind them to move.
We looked at the cover of our book Worms. It does not look like worms have mouths- but they do! They have a little tiny sucker and it sucks on the broken up bits of leaf or food. We use teeth to eat breakfast but worms use their suckers!
Here are some pictures of us doing our crayon and dye worms.
We had music with Mrs Sadgrove today too! We have music with her nearly every week.
Look at our beautiful music room!
Wow real worms! How special to have miss Read to bring them in...
