Kia ora everybody!
Today we listened to a story called 'Diary of a Worm'. After the story, Miss Ellis wrote down what we know about worms, and put it on our Wriggly Worm Wall.
Come and see what we know about worms next time you are in class.
Our Wriggly Worm Wall
Today we read our story 'Too Big'. We are learning what to do in Guided Reading time with the teacher. We get our book bags and we sit in a circle with Miss Ellis. When we read we use our pointer finger to point at each word. We are also learning to talk about the story we are reading.
Miss Ellis said "Give yourselves a pat on the back. That was awesome reading Room 20!"
We are learning to use our pointer finger to point to each word as we read it.
In Maths, we are learning to count to 100.
There is a really cool song to count and dance to.
Here it is: We Can Count to 100 song
We are learning to count to 100.
We also did something else today...to do with learning about the letter m sound, and words that start with m.
You will have to wait till Friday to see it, but here is a sneaky peek:
Hmmm....what could it be? Sssshhhh. It's a surprise!
(Miss Ellis says she is amazed that 14 five year olds on their 3rd day of school were able to follow instructions so well! Ka pai Room 20.)
